The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced its withdrawal from Saturday’s Local Government election in ondo state.
Confirming the development, Acting Chairman of the party in ondo state, Bakita Bello, made this known on Thursday during a conversation with Journalists.
He said the PDP as a party has sent a letter to the Ondo state independent Electoral commission,ODIEC informing them of the intention of the party to withdraw from the Saturday’s Election.
“We are not participating in the Local Government election and we have so informed ODIEC in writing ”
With the latest developments, The PDP’s withdrawal affects all 15 Chairmanship candidates and 131 Councillorship candidates it had fielded for the election, Validview Network Reports.
The party claims its decision stems from a loss of confidence in the Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC).
