ADO-EKITI — Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has penned a deeply moving and affectionate tribute to celebrate his wife, Professor Olayemi Oyebanji, as she marks her birthday today.

In a statement released in Ado-Ekiti by his Chief Press Secretary, Olayinka Oyebode, the Governor described his wife as a shining light, expressing profound gratitude for her steadfast love, grace, and continuous support.

A Heartfelt Presidential Tribute

Describing the celebrant as his greatest source of strength, Governor Oyebanji shared an emotionally resonant message commending her virtues and unshakeable character:

“My love, Olayemi, today is all about you, a special day for the most special soul—so beautiful and true. I admire the strength that lives within you, the kindness that resides in your heart and your unwavering faith that makes my spirit whole,” the Governor wrote.

He further prayed for divine favor, peace, and renewed blessings upon her life as she steps into another year of greatness, noting his privilege in continuing to bring a smile to her face.

APC Laudation: A Beacon of Scholarship and Service

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State also joined the train of well-wishers, celebrating the First Lady through a congratulatory message issued by the State Publicity Secretary, Segun Dipe. Titled ‘Happy birthday to our Baoress, Prof. Olayemi Oyebanji,’ the party lauded her profound impact on both state and national development.

The APC highlighted her remarkable transformation from a dedicated classroom teacher to an influential public figure:

  • Academic Excellence: Prior to her role in public service, Professor Oyebanji spent over two decades shaping young minds at Ekiti State University and the University of Ibadan. Her recent elevation to the prestigious rank of professor in October 2026 stands as a collective source of pride for the entire state.
  • Grassroots Impact: The First Lady has driven extensive humanitarian initiatives across Ekiti State, touching thousands of lives through targeted welfare projects.

Championing Humanitarian Causes

Beyond academia, Professor Oyebanji has earned widespread acclaim for her impactful pet projects focused on human development and social welfare, which include:

  • The Widows, Aged, Orphans and Homeless (WAOH) Hope Project: Offering crucial social safety nets and succor to the most vulnerable demographics in society.
  • Girls for Safer Space Fellowship: Empowering and raising a confident, resilient generation of young female students across tertiary institutions.
  • The Back-to-School Project: Providing essential learning tools, including school bags and books, to over 10,000 children across the state.

As messages continue to pour in from political associates, well-wishers, and dignitaries alike, the celebration underscores Professor Olayemi Oyebanji’s enduring legacy as an intellectual powerhouse, a compassionate mother of the state, and an inspiring public servant.
