Following Grammy-winning singer Tyla’s decision to quietly pull Lagos from her upcoming world tour itinerary, online nationalists have weaponized the cancellation, sparking severe retaliatory threats across social media.

​”If that happens, we want each and every Nigerian gone with immediate effect,” the user posted, demanding the expulsion of an estimated 500,000 Nigerians residing in South Africa. The inflammatory thread accused foreign nationals of illegal entry, illicit drug trades, and encroaching on local business sectors, warning that South Africans are “done being nice and diplomatic”.
