Olorunda Back-to-School Drive Hits 500 Pupils

​The ongoing educational support initiative spearheaded by the Executive Chairman of Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Ajose Peter Kumayon, has advanced into its third phase, directly impacting over 500 young learners across four distinct primary institutions.

​The outreach program, structured to cushion families against the economic pressures of a fresh academic calendar, extended its reach to Anglican Primary School in Itoga, Army Children School at the Army Barracks in Ibereko, LA Primary School in Ibereko, and Anglican Primary School in Ilado.

​Targeting children from Primary One to Primary Three, the phased intervention provides vital learning materials designed to foster an enabling environment for academic pursuits. Although the Executive Chairman was unavoidably absent from the Day Three itinerary, he was ably represented by his Chief of Staff and the Special Adviser on Special Duties and Civic Engagement.

​Also lending legislative and executive weight to the exercise were the Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Aina Dauda; the Supervisor for Education, Hon. Bankole Afeez; the Supervisor for WAPA, Alhaja Okunade; Deputy Leader Hon. Alice Ambe; Majority Leader Hon. Ewetan Emmanuel; Chief Whip Hon. Posu John; and the Councillor representing Ward B, Hon. Bamgbose Gbenga. They were joined by the Head of Department for Education, Mrs. Bunmi Onashile, alongside other key council functionaries.

​Council insiders note that the Back-to-School drive aligns with the administration’s broader framework—anchored on human capital development and youth empowerment, which has previously featured interventions such as free GCE form distributions for indigent students.

​Reiterating the local government’s core policy stance, council representatives emphasized that strategic investments in foundational education remain the cornerstone for securing the future prosperity and intellectual growth of Olorunda LCDA.
