The Traditional Council of Chiefs in Igbore, Abeokuta, Ogun State has honored a legal luminary, Barrister Olaide Aro with the chieftaincy title of ” Akogun of Igbore land on Thursday.
The ceremony which took place at Igbore Township Hall, Igbore Abeokuta had in attendance , Chief Imran Taiwo, Jaguna Igbore, Chief Tajudeen Lemboye , Balogun Igbore Boroji Egba, Odofin Igbore, Chief Rafiu Ogunmodede, Lisa Igbore, Chief Akeem Oladehinde.
The Chiefs during the conferment described the new ”Akogun” as a man of integrity and worthy son of the community.
The Chiefs said that legal luminary is always concerned about the development of Igbore land, saying that he deserves the Chieftaincy title.
The chiefs explained that the conferment was a reward for the good job he had done in the community.
Meanwhile, Aro who is the son of Chief Shuaib Aro, a prominent Egba High Chief, while speaking with newsmen said he did not see the title coming, but the Council of Chiefs deemed it fit for him to be the next Akogun of Igbore land.
He noted that the chieftaincy title conferred on him was a call to service, assuring that he will contribute immensely to the development of Igbore land.
“I am grateful to the Igbore Traditional Council of Chiefs and the people of Igbore land for honouring me with this Chieftaincy title. I want to say this is a call to service and i will not disappoint the people and the chiefs who bestowed me this honor.
“This will give me the motivation and encouragement to do more in promoting unity” he added
