The Ogun State House of Assembly has approved the request of Governor Dapo Abiodun to appoint 20 Special Advisers.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Oluomo read the governor’s correspondence at a Special Executive Session on Tuesday.
The approval followed a motion moved during plenary by the Majority Leader, Yusuf Sheriff after the presentation of the Governor’s letter.
Governor Abiodun had sought the approval of the lawmakers for the appointment of the 20 Special Advisers, pending the appointment of Commissioners.
The letter by the Speaker reads: “The House as its executive session today, Tuesday, 6th June 2023 deliberated on Your Excellency’s request to appoint 20 Special Advisers to maintain the momentum of your administration pending the appointment of Honourable Commissioners and found it worthy of the approval of the House.
“Hence, the House resolved and approved your Excellency’s request to Twenty (20) Special Advisers pending the appointment of Honourable Commissioners for the various ministries.”
