Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, during the inauguration of a VIP lodge at the Osun State Government House in Osogbo, encouraged Governor Ademola Adeleke to persist in his efforts towards infrastructural development in the state.
Recalling a private conversation where he advised Adeleke to continue dancing but also prioritize improving the lives of the state’s residents, Obasanjo declared himself Adeleke’s dancing partner.
Acknowledging the governor’s efforts, Obasanjo challenged Adeleke to unite the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, implement impactful policies, and ensure proper documentation of his achievements as governor.

He commended Adeleke for convening party leaders and urged him to continue bringing everyone on board for the betterment of the state.
Addressing Adeleke’s critics, Obasanjo emphasized the importance of prioritizing projects and maintaining honesty and integrity in governance.
In his response, Adeleke highlighted his administration’s completion of significant capital projects and ongoing work on others outlined in his infrastructure plan.
He emphasized the cost efficiency achieved with the completion of the VIP Lodge, which would minimize expenses associated with hosting important visitors to the state.
Adeleke, known as the “dancing governor” due to his fondness for dancing, assumed office on November 27, 2022, following the political path of his late elder brother, Senator Isiaka Adeleke, the state’s first elected governor.
