NY Man Pleads Guilty to Gruesome Murder of Ex-Girlfriend Who Foretold Her Own Death

​KINGSTON, N.Y. — A Hudson Valley man has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, admitting he brutally killed and dismembered his ex-girlfriend after she ended their relationship, bringing a haunting conclusion to a case where the victim chillingly predicted her own fate.

​Damon Foy, 50, of Kerhonkson, entered the guilty plea in Ulster County Court, according to the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office. Investigators revealed that between March 31 and April 1, 2024, Foy murdered 44-year-old Alberta Dale of Pennsylvania inside his apartment. Dale had recently traveled to New York to break off their relationship.

​The grim investigation was sparked on April 1, 2024, after Dale’s family in Pennsylvania reported her missing. Ulster County deputies responded to Foy’s residence, where they located Dale’s car. The following day, after a passerby discovered Dale’s phone abandoned on a roadside, authorities returned to question Foy further.

​Confronted by law enforcement, Foy whispered a chilling confession: “She’s in there. I killed her.”

​A subsequent search of the apartment revealed blood evidence throughout the home, alongside weapons including an axe, a serrated knife, and pruning shears. Inside a closet, investigators uncovered a bloody suitcase containing partial remains—including Dale’s severed head, grotesquely arranged with a flower placed inside.

​During police interviews, Foy expressed anger that Dale had ended the relationship and allegedly tried to make him leave his home, complaining that she had “played him like a fool.” Court documents showed a documented history of domestic violence. Before her tragic death, a prescient Dale had warned authorities that if she ever went missing, Foy was responsible.

​Ulster County prosecutors noted that the case stands as a stark testament to the lethal escalation of domestic violence. Under the terms of a plea agreement approved by the victim’s grieving family, Foy faces an expected sentence of 23 years to life in prison when he appears before the court on December 16.
