The 37-year-old Nigerian woman who sparked widespread anxiety online after going missing following her arrival in Doha, Qatar, has been found safe receiving medical treatment in a hospital.
Her brother, Jonathan Jibo, who initially sounded the alarm on social media after losing contact with her, confirmed the development on Sunday. According to the family, she suddenly took ill upon landing and was moved directly from the airport to a medical facility.
The frantic search, which stretched across multiple days, drew the intervention of the Nigerian Embassy in Doha, Qatar Airways management, and the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, Michael Achimugu.
Additional findings by aviation authorities and local volunteer networks revealed that her communication blackout was prolonged after local customs officials temporarily held her phone and passport for routine administrative clearance. Following her release and medical stabilization, she has reconnected with her family, bringing an end to days of intense concern.
Jibo expressed profound appreciation to online users, the Nigerian community in Doha, and public officials who amplified the search efforts and helped ensure her safe localization.
