Adeyinka Moyosore Kotoye, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), two esteemed traditional rulers—the Olu of Itori, Oba Fatai Akamo, and the Olu of Siun, Oba Lawrence Adisa Odeyinka—alongside 15 other distinguished individuals, are set to be conferred with honorary Doctorate degrees at the upcoming Leadership Empowerment International Conference (LEIC). The event will take place on Saturday, August 16, 2025, in Abeokuta.
The two-day international conference, running from August 15 to 16, 2025, will be held at Continental Suites on IBB Boulevard, Abeokuta, Ogun State. It is convened by the South African-based Immanuel Theology Institute International in collaboration with Nigeria’s Priesthood Leadership Development Initiative Inc. (PLDI).

Honourees come from diverse professional backgrounds and include Ogun State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Remilekun Ekundayo; United States-based businessman Musa Sani Anwalu; surveyor Mrs. Rántí Lemboye; Hon. Oladipo Akingbade; a Police Area Commander; Apostle Wale Fatolu; Chief Oluwakemi Odubote; Apostle Matthew Omooninkan; Mrs. Felicia Okanlawon; Mr. Adekunle Shoneye; Mrs. Mary Adenekan; Mrs. Ruth Oladipupo; Rev Tunji Akintayo; Pastor Balogun Timothy; and Apostle John Ayilara.
The honorary awards include Doctor of Leadership (D.L.) and Doctor of Theology (D.Th.) degrees, recognizing the awardees’ significant contributions and impactful leadership across various sectors.
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who serves as the Global Patron of the organization, will deliver the keynote address. His endorsement and involvement underline the high profile and international nature of the conference, which aims to foster leadership development.
The conference theme, “Leadership and Followership: The Bonding Factor and The Consequences of Insincerity”, reflects a critical introspection on leadership ethics, with emphasis on the detrimental effects of insincerity among African leaders—highlighted by the International Coordinator of PLDI, Prof. Olusesi Obateye. Prof. Obateye lamented that despite Africa’s vast natural resources, insincerity among leaders remains a major hurdle to the continent’s development.
This distinguished gathering not only honors exemplary figures but also serves as a platform to empower current and emerging leaders through discourse and training.
It is important to note that the Immanuel Theology Institute International, based in South Africa, is a Christ-centered educational body focused on equipping pastors and leaders with biblical knowledge and leadership skills for service in Pentecostal and Charismatic communities.
The LEIC conference continues to grow in prominence, with the organization’s reach extending across over 50 countries, affirming its global commitment to leadership value and character development.
