Mrs. Talabi, who held the position of Director of Procurement at the Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA), was reportedly knocked down by a vehicle on Saturday, October 18, 2025. The accident occurred while she was attempting to cross the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway near the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) camp in Ibafo, Ogun State. The incident has elicited shock and sorrow across government circles and the wider community, with many describing her sudden death as a cruel twist of fate.
According to reports, Mrs. Talabi had been eagerly preparing for her retirement, scheduled for October 22, 2025, and her comprehensive celebration of a decade of service coupled with her 60th birthday. Invitation cards for her “Thanksgiving Retirement and 60th Birthday” event had already been circulated among colleagues, friends, and family members. The grand celebration was to take place at the NERDC Conference Centre, located on NERDC Road, adjacent to the Fela Shrine in Ikeja, Lagos.
Details surrounding her death reveal that the incident occurred near the RCCG camp in Ibafo, Ogun State, and authorities are currently investigating the circumstances of the crash. The family has announced her funeral arrangements, which include a wake held on October 23 and her burial scheduled for October 24, both taking place at Ibafo.
