The Kaduna State Government has publicly condemned former Governor Nasir El-Rufai for what it describes as an attempt to destabilize the state by stirring chaos and inciting ethno-religious tensions. The government accused El-Rufai of refusing to accept the results of free and fair elections that affirmed the leadership of Governor Uba Sani and the APC, instead resorting to sabotage and manipulation.

The Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr. Suleiman Shuaibu, stated that El-Rufai’s coalition was resoundingly defeated and questioned why a governor, freshly endorsed by the people, would disrupt a meeting of political opponents. The government rejected El-Rufai’s claims that the federal and state governments sponsor bandits, with the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) dismissing such allegations as falsehoods.
Shuaibu highlighted the visible security improvements under Governor Uba Sani’s administration, noting that previously troubled areas such as Birnin Gwari, Giwa, Kajuru, and others have witnessed meaningful progress. Notorious bandit leaders have been neutralized, and community-based security strategies have restored hope, economic activities, and access to education in these regions.
The Kaduna Government emphasized that El-Rufai’s tenure was marked by division, insecurity, and marginalization of communities, contrasting sharply with the current government’s approach of healing, dialogue, and inclusive development. The Kaduna Peace Model serves as testimony to sustained peace and progress in the state.
The government warned that no individual, regardless of former positions of power, would be allowed to threaten the peace Kaduna has painstakingly reconstructed, calling on residents to reject hate and embrace unity.
In conclusion, the Kaduna State Government branded El-Rufai’s actions as morally and legally indefensible attempts to regain political relevance by plunging the state into disorder, urging citizens to support peace and stability under Governor Uba Sani’s leadership.
