Peter Ayodele Fayose, the former Governor of Ekiti State, celebrated his 65th birthday with a grand event that took place on Saturday, November 15, 2025, in Lagos. The celebration gathered family members, close friends, political associates, and notable dignitaries at the prestigious 10 Degrees Event Center in Ikeja, a venue renowned for hosting significant high-profile events. Fayose marked this milestone with an eventful soiree featuring gourmet dining and premium beverages, reflecting both his charismatic personality and influence in Nigerian politics.

The birthday celebration was particularly meaningful as Fayose’s 60th birthday festivities had been limited by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. The event in Lagos symbolized not only a celebration of his personal life but also his enduring contributions to Ekiti State and the political landscape of Nigeria. Prominent figures such as President Bola Tinubu publicly extended warm congratulatory messages, with Tinubu describing Fayose as a younger brother and expressing gratitude for his support. Tinubu prayed for Fayose’s good health and greater purpose in his service to both God and humanity.

Fayose, known for his bold and outspoken manner, also used this occasion to share personal revelations. He instructed that upon his death, his body should belong to the Ekiti State Government and requested a simple burial at his grandmother’s home within four weeks. Political leaders, including Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, also sent their respects and praise, highlighting his legacy of infrastructure development, empowerment programs, and his status as a key reference point in Nigerian politics.

This 65th birthday celebration was a vibrant blend of nostalgia, political camaraderie, and festivity that underscored Fayose’s resilience and lasting influence on the public and political spheres in Nigeria.
