Omotola Abiola Jayeola, a foremost Professor of Wildlife Ecology will on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 present the 93rd Inaugural Lecture of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) at the Oluwafemi Balogun Ceremonial Building by 2 p.m.
The Lecture, titled “The Tragedy of Consumption and Conservation: A Paradox of Community Emancipation,” promises to be interesting, revealing and exciting as Prof Jayeola would bring his overwhelming native intelligence laced with outstanding scientific information to bare in unraveling the tragedy and proferring sustainable solutions towards promoting conservation and enhancing livelihood.
Prof. Omotola Abiola Jayeola of the Department of Forestry and Wildlife Management, College of Environmental Resources Management (COLERM) of the University is a proud graduate of the University and former Director of FUNAAB Zoo Park.
The Lecture would present strategies for navigating this paradox, highlighting pathways to a more equitable and environmentally conscious future.
A release made available by the Olasunkanmi Olajide, Acting Director, Directorate of Public Relations of the University confirmed that the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, would preside over the event as the Chief Host.
The staement read further ” As a distinguished authority in Wildlife Ecology and Biodiversity Conservation, Prof. Jayeola would delve into the conflicting demands of individual consumption and collective conservation efforts, exploring how communities could balance these needs to achieve both emancipation and sustainability”.
