HOGL Energy Limited reported that a fire broke out at its operational terminal in Lagos on Friday during routine maintenance of its Premium Motor Spirit cargo pipeline.
The fire was extinguished by the Lagos State Fire Service with assistance from HOGL’s facilities unit and local stakeholders.
Grace Aderemi-John, the firm’s Corporate Communications Officer, confirmed in a statement that the fire was successfully put out by 1:45 pm and did not affect operations at surrounding terminals.
She emphasized that no damage or casualties occurred as a result of the fire.

Aderemi-John also mentioned that loading operations would resume after receiving clearance from the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).
She reiterated HOGL’s commitment to maintaining high standards of workplace health and safety and praised the effectiveness of the company’s safety protocols and emergency response teams.
“We extend our gratitude to our host community, stakeholders, and the Lagos State Fire Service for their swift response and collaboration in combating the fire incident,” she added.
