Epstein-Linked Model Scout Found Dead

​PARIS — Daniel Siad, a French modeling scout whose name appeared nearly 2,000 times in Department of Justice files linking him to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, was found dead on Monday at his home in Colombes, a northwestern suburb of Paris. He was 69.

​The Nanterre prosecutor’s office confirmed that an inquiry has been opened to determine the cause of death, and an autopsy has been ordered.

​Prior to his death, Siad was the focus of an active criminal investigation by French authorities specializing in human trafficking, following allegations from multiple women accusing him of rape and sexual abuse. Legal representatives for his accusers expressed frustration that his passing closes the door on a potential trial, leaving victims without a full judicial accounting.

​Siad consistently denied any wrongdoing, maintaining in recent interviews that he believed Epstein was acting as a legitimate casting director and that he was unaware of any harm inflicted on the women he introduced. His death bears striking similarities to that of Jean-Luc Brunel, another prominent French modeling agent tied to Epstein, who died in a Paris prison cell in 2022 while awaiting trial.
