A suspect, identified as Ayomide Oluwadamilare, 25, has been apprehended by the Ogun State Police Command in connection with the gruesome murder of his former employer, Mr. Kola Adun, a resident of River Valley Estate, Ojodu Berger.
Adun’s decomposing body was discovered in his home, bearing visible stab wounds, and his Toyota Camry was missing.The chilling discovery was made on July 7, 2025, around 1300hrs, when the Divisional Police Officer of Ojodu Abiodun Division received a distress call about an unusual stench emanating from a residence in the Mubarak area of Akute.
Officers promptly responded, forcing entry into a premises on Ogunmoyero Street, River Valley Estate, where they found Mr. Adun’s lifeless body on the first floor. Bloodstains were evident at the scene, and his vehicle, a Toyota Camry with Registration No. LAGOS AAA 193 GC, was nowhere to be found.
Suspicion had already been raised on Sunday morning, July 6, when a friend of the deceased went to pick him up for church service. The gate was locked from the outside, and repeated calls to Mr. Adun went unanswered before his phone was eventually switched off.
The friend immediately alerted the family and reported the matter at the Ojodu Abiodun Police Station.Preliminary investigations by the police revealed that Ayomide Oluwadamilare, Mr. Adun’s former driver, unlawfully entered the residence on Saturday, July 5, 2025, with the intention to rob. It is alleged that he then stabbed Mr. Adun to death before fleeing with the deceased’s vehicle.
The breakthrough in the case came when the suspect attempted to sell the stolen vehicle to a car dealer in Ijede, Ikorodu. The dealer, becoming suspicious of Oluwadamilare, promptly contacted the police, leading to his swift arrest at the point of sale.
The remains of the deceased have been evacuated to Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Sagamu, for autopsy.
The case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Abeokuta, for discreet investigation and prosecution, as confirmed by CSP Omolola Odutola, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Ogun State Police Command Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta.
