
The Maternal and Child Centre (MCC) in Eti-Osa, Lagos, has welcomed Dr. Olufemi Babatunde Aletan as its new Medical Director, succeeding Dr. Taiwo Adeiyi. The official handover ceremony included prayers, goodwill messages, and a tour of the facility by both outgoing and incoming directors along with management staff.
Mrs. Deborah Oluwafemi-Olulade, Head of Administration and Human Resources, in her address, commended the MCC staff for their dedication and encouraged sustained teamwork to maintain quality healthcare delivery. Dr. Taiwo Adeiyi reflected on his achievements in office with gratitude before formally transferring leadership documents to Dr. Aletan.

In accepting the role, Dr. Aletan expressed gratitude to the Hospital Management Committee and pledged to focus on enhancing service delivery, emphasizing patient-centered care and excellence across all departments. The MCC Eti-Osa, a 110-bed facility, is part of Lagos State’s commitment to providing accessible, affordable, and quality maternal and child healthcare services, equipped with modern amenities including neonatal units, labor wards, emergency clinics, and more. This center is one of several established by the Lagos State Government to reduce maternal and child mortality and improve healthcare access in the region.
The leadership transition underscores ongoing efforts to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and service quality in Lagos State, aligned with sustainable development goals focused on maternal and child health.
