The entertainment industry is mourning the loss of actress Carla Jeffery, widely celebrated for her vibrant portrayal of the bubbly cheerleader Bree in Disney’s hit ZOMBIES franchise, who died on September 1, 2026, at the age of 33.
Her passing was confirmed in a heartfelt statement issued by Alexanders Talent Management, the agency that represented her for over two decades after signing her at the age of 12. While the official statement did not disclose a cause of death, the news has sent shockwaves through the young-adult television community and among millions of fans worldwide.
Born on July 10, 1993, in Houston, Texas, Jeffery established a prolific career as a versatile child and adult performer. Before securing her iconic role in the ZOMBIES universe—appearing across all three feature films and its animated spin-off series—she built an impressive resume with guest and recurring roles in major television comedies and dramas, including Curb Your Enthusiasm, Southland, Shake It Up!, Good Luck Charlie, iCarly, and American Vandal, as well as a feature film debut in 2006’s Phat Girlz.
Following the announcement, tributes poured in across social media from co-stars and industry peers. Milo Manheim, her ZOMBIES co-star, remembered her as “the sweetest person I have ever met”, while Chandler Kinney praised her as the “brightest shining light in any room.” Her twin brother and fellow Disney alumnus, Carlon Jeffery (A.N.T. Farm), also shared an emotional remembrance online honoring her infectious smile and resilient spirit.
