UK Cop Investigated for Using AI to Forge Evidence

LONDON — A pioneering criminal investigation has been launched in the United Kingdom after a police officer was accused of using artificial intelligence to fabricate evidence in multiple active cases.

​The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) and Derbyshire Police confirmed that the officer has been sidelined from frontline duties while investigators probe allegations of perverting the course of justice. The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) is now working closely with defense teams and the courts to identify which trials may have been compromised by the alleged digital forgery.
