​In a poignant and candid disclosure, Hollywood legend Danny Glover has shared that he is living with Alzheimer’s disease. The 79-year-old actor, revered for his commanding screen presence and lifelong commitment to social justice, chose to go public with the diagnosis this week during an exclusive interview on NBC’s Today show.

​Glover, who celebrates his 80th birthday on July 22, revealed that he received the diagnosis in 2023. While he acknowledged that the progressive nature of the disease has brought about changes in his speech, movement, and memory, his spirit remains resolute.

​“I don’t feel like it’s the end of my life. There’s work to do. Your life continues,” Glover stated.
