Authorities in Thailand have launched a formal investigation into an unnamed cosmetic clinic in Bangkok following the death of Nigerian content creator and London resident Igho “Tiny” Ubiribo.
Ubiribo passed away on March 6 after experiencing sudden medical complications hours after receiving hyaluronic acid penis filler injections. According to records from the Westminster Coroner’s Court, a post-mortem examination and subsequent toxicology report attributed the influencer’s death to the cosmetic procedure compounded by a pulmonary embolism.
Inquests revealed that Ubiribo began experiencing severe chest pains and collapsed on March 5, shortly after leaving the clinic. He was rushed to a local hospital for a computed tomography (CT) scan but lost consciousness prior to the examination. Emergency medical personnel administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation for 101 minutes before he was pronounced dead at 1:05 a.m. on March 6.
During subsequent inquiries, clinic management informed investigators that Ubiribo had been a regular patient since 2024, having previously undergone five similar treatments without reporting any adverse effects. Regarding the final visit on March 5, the clinic asserted that medical staff strongly advised Ubiribo to split the extensive procedure across two separate sessions. However, representatives stated that the content creator explicitly requested the entire treatment be completed in a single sitting.
Furthermore, the facility maintained that standard protocols were strictly followed, noting that Ubiribo signed a formal treatment consent form prior to the procedure and received comprehensive aftercare instructions afterward.
Prompted by the findings from the UK coroner’s inquest, Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health stepped in. Minister Pattana Phromphat directed the Department of Health Service Support and the Food and Drug Administration to initiate a comprehensive inquiry. On September 7, health inspectors visited the facility to audit its operational compliance, equipment, and adherence to professional medical standards.

Department of Health Service Support Director-General Phuwadet Surakot noted that the establishment’s identity is currently being withheld from public disclosure while the inquiry proceeds.
The Ministry of Public Health concluded in a statement that all gathered evidence and documentation will be systematically compiled and submitted to the Medical Council. The council will ultimately determine whether the facility violated professional practice standards, a ruling intended to ensure accountability and fairness for all parties involved.
