The family of late Evangelist Mrs. Rosemary Oromoni has announced her burial plans, nearly eight months after her passing in November 2024.

Mrs. Oromoni was the mother of Sylvester Oromoni Jr., the Dowen College student whose controversial death in 2021 sparked national outrage and a protracted legal battle.
Reports indicate that Mrs. Oromoni struggled with depression and high blood pressure following the tragic loss of her 12-year-old son, as well as the emotional toll of the unresolved case.
Sylvester Jr. died in November 2021 under suspicious circumstances, with his family alleging he was bullied, beaten, and forced to ingest a toxic substance by senior students.
Dowen College denied the allegations, claiming he sustained injuries while playing football.
The case became a national flashpoint, leading to multiple autopsies that offered conflicting results. While an early autopsy pointed to chemical poisoning, a Lagos coroner later concluded the boy died of natural causes related to sepsis.
The accused students were eventually exonerated, leaving the family dissatisfied with the justice process.
In protest, the Oromoni family refused to bury their son until January 2024—more than two years after his death. Tragically, Mrs. Oromoni passed away just months later.
