Buhari Estate Saved From Forfeiture in Ogun

​Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has successfully pulled the strategic President Muhammadu Buhari (PMB) Estate back from the brink of legal forfeiture, turning a long-stalled liability into a thriving 108-unit modern residential community along the Abeokuta-Sagamu Expressway.

​The completed gated community is slated for official commissioning on Tuesday by the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

​From Abandoned Liability to Asset

​Originally inherited from the previous administration in a severely underdeveloped state—with only initial infrastructure contracts awarded and a single show building erected—the project became heavily embroiled in debilitating legal battles over outstanding contractor debts. The dispute threatened to strip the state of the property through court-backed forfeiture.

​Opting against leaving the public investment to rot, the Abiodun administration intervened decisively, successfully orchestrating an out-of-court settlement and rolling out a structured payment plan to secure the state’s total ownership.

​Innovative PPP Model and World-Class Amenities

​To drive the project to completion without adding strain to public finances, the state deployed a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) framework. Under this arrangement, the government supplied the land and primary infrastructure, while private developers handled construction and housing sales.

​The resulting PMB Estate features a mix of four-bedroom fully detached and semi-detached luxury duplexes outfitted with elite community infrastructure:

• ​Housing Architecture: Fully detached homes sit on roughly 900 square meters featuring four en-suite bedrooms, a study, a family lounge, a domestic staff quarter (BQ), and expansive terraces. Semi-detached blocks occupy spaces between 460 and 500 square meters.

• ​Infrastructure & Utilities: Interconnected asphalt roads, comprehensive street lighting, reliable clean water supply, and dedicated waste management facilities.

• ​Power & Security: Continuous 24-hour power infrastructure backed by top-tier perimeter fencing and gated security.

• ​Recreation & Lifestyle: A modern sporting center, children’s playground, and an exclusive clubhouse.

​Strategic Location and Economic Growth

​Situated directly opposite the Ogun State Judiciary Complex and adjacent to the Ogun TechHub, the estate offers prime proximity to key regional hubs. It sits roughly two minutes from the TechHub, seven minutes from the Government House, and provides seamless connectivity—resting just 15 minutes from the Wole Soyinka Train Station and about half an hour away from Lagos. Private capital is already streaming into the corridor, anchored by corporate developments such as Access Bank’s upcoming training school within the precinct.
