A joyful family reunion has unfolded in Bayelsa State after a young man was restored to his biological relatives 35 years after he was given to another man to raise.

The emotional homecoming took place over the weekend in Olobiri community (also associated with the historic Oloibiri area in Ogbia Local Government Area). Family member Ibuomozi Bigi shared the news in a Facebook post on Sunday, September 20, 2026, describing the return of his older brother’s son to the Bigi family.

According to Bigi, the young man was brought back on Saturday, September 19, and formally presented the following day to the Mozi Dynasty in the community. He described the returnee as “a replica of his father.”

“A family’s celebration of the Return of a lost Son. My older brother’s son who was given to another man 35 years ago has been brought back to the Bigi family yesterday being 19 September 2026, a replica of his father; and today the young man was presented to the Mozi Dynasty in Olobiri Community today being 20th September, 2026 just minutes ago,” Bigi wrote.

He expressed deep emotion over the development: “I’m overwhelmed with joy over this particular event, and just returning from the village. Na God run this one.”

The circumstances surrounding the original decision to place the child with another man more than three decades ago have not been publicly detailed.
