Anambra Schools Secure New Term Safety Measures

​The Anambra State Police Command has launched a comprehensive security sweep across educational institutions in the state to safeguard students, teachers, and school infrastructure as the new academic term commences.

​Spearheaded by the Inspector-General of Police’s Safe School Initiative, the high-visibility deployment is coordinated directly under the supervision of the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, ACP Harrison Oruruo. The strategic blueprint leverages joint forces, integrating active police personnel with operatives from sister security agencies and local stakeholders to establish an ironclad security grid around vulnerable learning environments.

​Beyond armed patrols and stationary deployments, the security personnel have been tasked with proactive engagement. Officers are currently conducting on-the-ground safety awareness seminars for students and staff, managing peak-hour traffic, and assisting children with safe road crossings during arrival and departure windows.

​State Commissioner of Police, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, emphasized that community collaboration remains vital to the success of the initiative. He urged school administrators, teachers, parents, and host communities to maintain heightened vigilance and immediately channel intelligence regarding suspicious activities to the command for rapid response.

​The proactive operational adjustments are designed to foster a secure, conducive atmosphere for learning, preempting potential security vulnerabilities across the state’s educational landscape.
