A 35-year-old woman, Anulika Nwokike Onyeanusi, has pleaded not guilty to a 14-count charge over the alleged sexual abuse and exploitation of her two daughters in Onitsha, Anambra State, ValidViewNetwork reports.
The two girls are aged seven and nine. She entered her plea before the Anambra State High Court’s Children, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Court in Awka.
The charges are allegations only. A court has not ruled on them.
THE CHARGES AND THE NEXT DATE
ValidViewNetwork gathered that the charges reportedly include rape, using children for pornography, sexual exploitation, and emotional and psychological abuse.
Justice Peace Otti adjourned the case until November 27, 2026, for a ruling on her bail application.
HOW THE CASE BEGAN
Findings show that the case began online. Police in Anambra said they received information through open-source intelligence in September about a disturbing video circulating on social media.
They arrested the woman on the evening of Thursday, September 10, 2026.
Checks by ValidViewNetwork confirm that police rescued four children aged two, three, six and nine during the operation.
The command said it was questioning the woman’s husband to find out whether he had any link to the alleged abuse.
WHAT THE POLICE PROMISED
ValidViewNetwork reports that Commissioner of Police Nnanna Oji Ama ordered a thorough and professional investigation and directed that the rescued children receive proper care.
The command said it would work with child-protection agencies for counselling and support, and would protect the children’s identities throughout the case.
It also thanked vigilantes, bloggers and residents whose information led to the arrest.
WHAT THIS CASE ASKS OF US
The video travelled faster than the law. Thousands of Nigerians watched, shared and commented before any court heard a word.
That speed helped rescue the children, but it also carries a danger. Every extra share keeps a child’s worst moment in circulation. Nigerians who want to help should report such material to the police and avoid forwarding it.
The philosopher Immanuel Kant argued that persons must never be treated merely as means. A child’s suffering turned into content is the clearest breach of that rule.

The legal principle matters too: the woman is presumed innocent until a court decides otherwise. Both things can be held together. The children’s protection comes first, and the trial must be fair.
The next date is November 27, 2026. ValidViewNetwork will report the bail ruling and any further development.
