Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has marked his first year in office with a massive infrastructure drive, commissioning a series of strategic road projects and healthcare facilities across the Northern Senatorial District of Ondo State. The Governor, who described infrastructure as the “heartbeat” of his administration’s development blueprint, drew high praise from top traditional rulers, including the Olubaka of Oka and the Olowo of Owo.
In Oka-Akoko, the Governor inaugurated the 6km Aiyegunle–Iwaro Oka Road, a project that had remained unfinished through several past administrations. He noted that the corridor is vital for the state’s “OUR EASE” agenda, serving as a primary artery for transporting agricultural produce from Akokoland to wider markets.

The momentum shifted to Owo Local Government Area, where a “triple-header” commissioning took place. Aiyedatiwa opened the Opomulero, Iselu, and Isuada roads, totaling 3.5 kilometers of fresh asphalt. Beyond transportation, the administration extended its reach to the health sector, with Deputy Governor Dr. Olayide Adelami commissioning an upgraded Primary Health Care (PHC) facility and new staff quarters in Owo—the first time in the state’s history that such housing has been provided for rural health workers.

”Our governance is guided by fairness and shared prosperity,” Aiyedatiwa stated, adding that 51 out of 112 planned PHC upgrades have already been completed across the state.
