The remaining members of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Oke Igan, Akure in Ondo State, who were abducted by gunmen at Ifon in Ose LGA, have regained their freedom.
The victims were attacked and kidnapped last Friday while travelling in a bus to a burial ceremony.
A few hours after they were abducted, the police said they had rescued eight of them.
A member of the church, who doesn’t want her name in print told ValidViewNetwork that they had been released, adding that the victims were brought to the church premises by the negotiating team late Thursday.
The source said the victims have since been reunited with their families.
Spokesperson of the police command, Olufunmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, confirmed that the remaining abductees had been set free.
She said the victims, who regained freedom on Thursday, have been reunited with their families after undergoing medical checkups at the hospital.
The PPRo however could not confirm if a ransom was paid to release the victims.
“There are 11, and they have all been released,” the Ondo police spokesperson told TheCable.
“They were released yesterday night, were first taken to the hospital for treatment, and would be with their families by now.”
