Lagos State is set to deepen government support for the creative industry through skills development, expanded training and investment in infrastructure, Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat has said.
Hamzat spoke at the commissioning and opening of Euphoria360 Hub, established by actor and filmmaker Femi Adebayo in Oregun, Lagos.
He said Lagos had no shortage of creative talent but needed structures capable of turning that talent into sustainable careers and internationally competitive businesses.
INFRASTRUCTURE AND SKILLS
Hamzat said the state was investing in creative infrastructure, including theatres in parts of Lagos. He said skills development and access to appropriate facilities were necessary to help young creatives compete in the global market.
The deputy governor said the administration wanted the creative sector to contribute more strongly to employment and economic activity.
EUPHORIA360 HUB
The comments came as Euphoria360 Hub opened its doors in Oregun. The facility, founded by Femi Adebayo, is expected to serve as another creative platform in Lagos’ expanding entertainment ecosystem.
The state government has increasingly positioned entertainment, film, music and digital content as important components of the wider creative economy.
ValidViewNetwork reports that Lagos’ challenge is no longer simply discovering talent. The bigger task is building an ecosystem where talent can access training, infrastructure, financing and markets.
