KADUNA — Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Masari, has declared that in almost four decades of political involvement, he has never encountered a Nigerian president with plans for the country as strong as those of President Bola Tinubu.
ValidViewNetwork can confirm that Masari made the remarks in a video published Tuesday on Facebook by HM Arewa, a Hausa-language media platform.
Masari stated the above while addressing a group of women at a public function in Kaduna.
A veteran’s endorsement
The former Katsina State governor, who served as Speaker between 2003 and 2007, said he could confidently make the claim about Tinubu even under oath, dismissing criticism that the administration had achieved little by pointing to similar accusations levelled against past presidents, including Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, in their early years.
Taking on ethnic and religious politics
ValidViewNetwork gathered that Masari also used the appearance to criticise the use of ethnic and religious sentiment in political discourse, questioning why religion is so often framed as belonging exclusively to particular ethnic groups.
He further appealed to women preachers to help discourage divisive rhetoric as the 2027 elections approach.
According to reports gotten by ValidViewNetwork, Masari was appointed Deputy Director-General for Parliamentary Mobilisation on the APC Presidential Campaign Council for Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid in August
In that role, his latest remarks rests squarely within the ruling party’s early campaign messaging ahead of the January 2027 presidential poll.
