Galatasaray have confirmed that Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen and midfielder Mario Lemina are undergoing treatment after medical examinations revealed moderate-to-advanced level strains in their right adductor muscle groups, with Osimhen expected to be sidelined for up to three weeks.

The Turkish club disclosed that both players underwent MRI and advanced examinations at sponsor Acıbadem Hospital, where the injuries were detected.
The DiagnosisIn a statement posted on its X handle on Sunday, September 6, 2026, Galatasaray said:
“Following the completion of MR and advanced examinations at our sponsor Acıbadem Hospital, advanced-moderate level strain (bleeding and strain) has been detected in the right adductor (groin) muscle group of our footballer Victor Osimhen” .
The club added that Lemina suffered a similar injury, saying:
“Similarly, advanced-moderate level strain (bleeding and strain) has been detected in the right adductor muscle group of our player Mario Lemina, whose examinations have also been completed”.
Recovery Timeline
Osimhen sustained the injury during Galatasaray’s 3-2 victory over Istanbul Başakşehir on Friday, September 4, 2026, and was substituted in the 33rd minute after experiencing discomfort.
He tried to play through the pain for about 10 minutes before being replaced.
According to reports, Osimhen is expected to be sidelined for three weeks, while Lemina is expected to be out for two to three weeks.
The Super Eagles striker is hopeful of recovering in time to feature for Galatasaray against Sporting Lisbon in the UEFA Champions League next week.
Galatasaray confirmed that both players have commenced treatment for their respective injuries, stating that their “treatment processes are ongoing” .
