Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has approved Friday, August 14, 2026, as a work-free day for public servants across the state to facilitate travel and preparation ahead of the upcoming governorship election.
The announcement was communicated through an official circular signed by the Head of Service, Elder Ayanleye Aina. The directive covers all categories of state workers, with exemptions granted only to personnel rendering essential and emergency services.
Governor Adeleke urged the workforce, alongside their families and supporters, to turn out en masse to safeguard their franchise. Emphasizing the significance of the exercise, he called on formal workers to actively mobilize informal groups and professional bodies to protect the democratic gains recorded over the past three and a half years.
