Hormuz Standoff: Iranian Gunboats Fire on Vessels Despite Trump Ceasefire

THE GULF — Tensions in the Middle East reached a fever pitch on Wednesday as Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) gunboats opened fire on and seized commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, directly defying a ceasefire extension announced just hours earlier by U.S. President Donald Trump.
