LONDON – In a rare departure from her meticulously curated public image, Victoria Beckham has issued a poignant defense of her family life following a stinging public fallout with her eldest son, Brooklyn Peltz Beckham.

The fashion mogul and former Spice Girl, 51, chose an interview with the Wall Street Journal on Thursday to break her three-month silence regarding a rift that has threatened the unity of one of the world’s most powerful celebrity dynasties.

“I think that we’ve always—we love our children so much,” Lady Beckham stated, pointedly addressing the tension without naming her 27-year-old son directly. “We’ve always tried to be the best parents that we can be. We’ve been in the public eye for more than 30 years right now, and all we’ve ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children.”

The “Brand Beckham” Accusations

The statement follows a seismic January 19 Instagram post by Brooklyn, in which he shared a six-page manifesto accusing his parents of prioritizing “Brand Beckham”—their global commercial empire—over genuine family affection.

In that post, Brooklyn claimed he had been “forced” to speak out after his parents allegedly leaked stories to the press to “sabotage” his relationship with wife Nicola Peltz. He described a culture where family love was measured by social media engagement and public appearances, stating, “Family ‘love’ is decided by how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo op.”

The young Beckham also confirmed long-standing rumors regarding his 2022 wedding, alleging his mother “cancelled” her commitment to design Nicola’s wedding dress at the “eleventh hour,” leaving his wife scrambling for a replacement.

Disputes Over the Truth

The narrative of the rift remains highly contested. While Brooklyn’s wedding DJ, Fat Tony, reportedly corroborated claims of a “hostile” environment during the ceremony, others have jumped to the parents’ defense. Singer Marc Anthony, a close family friend, recently dismissed the portrayal of the events as “hardly the truth.”

Similarly, resurfaced interviews with Nicola Peltz have cast doubt on the “eleventh-hour” dress cancellation, suggesting that the Valentino gown she eventually wore had been in the design process for months before the ceremony.

Sir David’s Subtle Rebuttal

While Victoria chose a direct interview to address the matter, Sir David Beckham has been more oblique. Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos shortly after Brooklyn’s January outburst, the former England captain discussed the “dangers” of social media.

”I have tried to educate my children,” the 50-year-old football icon said. “They make mistakes, but children are allowed to make mistakes. That is how they learn. Sometimes you have to let them make those mistakes.”

Despite the escalating war of words, the senior Beckhams have attempted to maintain a semblance of normalcy, posting a birthday tribute to Brooklyn last month. However, Brooklyn’s insistence that he “does not want to reconcile” suggests the distance between the London-based parents and their Florida-based son is wider than ever.

For Victoria, who has spent decades building a brand centered on family unity, the current crisis represents perhaps her greatest public relations challenge to date. Her latest comments signal a clear strategy: to frame the dispute not as a corporate fallout, but as the universal struggle of parents trying to protect children in an unforgiving spotlight.
