Sir Kesington Adebukunola Adebutu, widely known as Baba Ijebu, the celebrated Ogun State business magnate, has marked a monumental milestone—his 90th birthday—by pledging a generous gift of ₦3 billion to uplift local communities across Ogun State. The donation is thoughtfully earmarked for two key Local Government Areas and his hometown, underscoring his lifelong commitment to regional development and philanthropy.

Born on October 24, 1935, in Iperu Remo, Ogun State, Adebutu began his illustrious career in the 1960s as a humble pool betting agent. He later transformed and institutionalized his enterprise with the incorporation of Premier Lotto Limited in 2001. Today, Baba Ijebu stands as a titan of the Nigerian lottery industry—the trusted name behind “Baba Ijebu” lotto, an iconic brand that resonates deeply within Nigerian culture, synonymous with hope, luck, and entrepreneurial spirit.

Baba Ijebu’s business empire extends beyond lottery operations to philanthropic ventures through the Kesington Adebukola Adebutu Foundation, which focuses on education, healthcare, and support for the underprivileged. In his latest philanthropic gesture, Adebutu has announced the allocation of ₦1 billion each to Sagamu and Ikenne Local Governments, with another ₦1 billion set aside for the Iperu Akesan Development Association, directly benefiting his hometown grassroots. He stated, “I hereby urge the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, to assemble some eminent personalities and propose a project worth ₦1 billion for Sagamu Local Government. The donations are to be utilized to enhance the development of our people and communities.”
