
The Nigeria Police Force has officially announced the appointment of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Benjamin Hundeyin as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO). This appointment was approved by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, and takes effect following the redeployment of the outgoing Force PRO, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Olumuyiwa Adejobi, to the Delta State Police Command after his recent promotion.

CSP Benjamin Hundeyin is a distinguished and seasoned communicator with an impressive academic background. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in English Language from Lagos State University and a Master of Science in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan. Additionally, he earned a Certificate in Civil-Military Coordination from the Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Training Centre in Jaji, Kaduna State.

Professionally, Hundeyin is associated with several reputable institutions. He is an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), a member of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM). His broad expertise in communications and security is further solidified by his participation in the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Darfur, Sudan (UNAMID) in 2020.
Before his current appointment, CSP Hundeyin served as the Police Public Relations Officer at Zone 2 Command Headquarters in Onikan, Lagos and subsequently as the Public Relations Officer for the Lagos State Police Command, a role he had held since March 2022. His tenure there was marked by proactive media engagement and significant efforts to improve police-community relations.
The Inspector-General of Police has tasked CSP Hundeyin to leverage his extensive communications and security experience to strengthen the Force’s public relations activities and ensure continuous positive engagement with the public. His appointment is seen as a strategic move to enhance transparency, build public trust, and advance the communication strategies of the Nigeria Police Force at the national level.
