
Omo’ba Musibau Abiola Ogundeko, an alumnus of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has been officially installed as the 11th President of the Remo Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (RECCIMA). The investiture ceremony was held at the Conference Hall, Owolowo Cooperative House, Oba-Erinwole II Government Reservation Area (GRA), Sagamu, Ogun State.
The event featured a keynote lecture titled “Local Strength to Global Relevance: Driving Trade, Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Remoland,” delivered by Dr. Sikirat Ibrahim, emphasizing strategic utilization of Remo’s fertile agricultural lands, resources, and infrastructure to stimulate economic growth through innovation, value-chain development, and enhancing facilities like storage and renovation.
Prof. Kolawole Adebayo, former Deputy Vice Chancellor (Development) at FUNAAB, represented the guest lecturer, contributing academic insight into the region’s economic development.
Asiwaju Solomon Kayode Onafowokan, chairman of the occasion, urged leaders in Remoland to practice participatory governance founded on consultation, commitment, and determination, highlighting that effective leadership depends on engaging and consulting with followers for collective advancement.
The ceremony was attended by eminent dignitaries including Oba (Dr.) Babatunde Adewale Ajayi (CFR), the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland (represented by Engr. Wole Ogunsanya), Engr. Jani Ibrahim, National President of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Elder Olatunji Adeniyi, outgoing RECCIMA President, Ogun State Commissioner for Environment Hon. Ola Oresanya, Lion Niyi Oshiyemi, President of Ogun State Chamber of Commerce (OGUNCCIMA), and Olumide Araoyinbo, President of Osun State Chamber of Commerce (OSCCIMA).
In his address, NACCIMA National President Engr. Jani Ibrahim stressed the critical role of youth in Nigeria’s economic future and announced “NACCIMA GLOBAL,” a new initiative aimed at bridging Nigerians in the diaspora with local businesses to expand global market access. He praised Omo’ba Ogundeko as a young, vibrant leader endowed with the energy necessary to advance the chamber’s mission, urging support for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and increased youth engagement in economic growth.
During his inaugural speech, President Ogundeko expressed gratitude to family, royal fathers, business leaders, and members. He commended his predecessor for exemplary leadership and vowed to build on past achievements with a focus on entrepreneurship development, youth and women empowerment, digital transformation, advocacy, strategic partnerships, and cultural tourism development. He emphasized RECCIMA’s vision to be the foremost driver of economic development in Remoland, calling for unity and innovation among members.
Outgoing President Elder Olatunji Adeniyi, in his farewell remarks, encouraged youths to actively participate in empowerment programs and business development initiatives.
The installation of Omo’ba Musibau Abiola Ogundeko marks a forward-looking chapter for RECCIMA and Remoland’s business community, poised for strategic growth through innovation, entrepreneurship, and local-global trade expansion under his youthful and visionary leadership.
