Former Senate spokesperson and member representing the Enugu North Senatorial District, Ayogu Eze, has passed away at the age of 66.
He died on Thursday in an Abuja hospital after battling an undisclosed illness.
Eze, a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), served as a senator from 2007 to 2015.

He was appointed as a federal Commissioner for Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission by the Senate in May 2023.
During his tenure in the Senate, Eze held various significant roles, including chairman of the Senate Committee on Works.
He was also a member of several committees, including Constitutional Amendment, Police Affairs, National Planning, Marine Transport, and Federal Character & Inter-Government Affairs.
His passing is a loss to the political landscape, and he will be remembered for his contributions to public service and governance.
