Operatives of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps have apprehended 63 individuals across various locations for two offenses: crossing the highway without using pedestrian bridges and engaging in street trading.
This information was disclosed by the state Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, in a post on his official handle on Friday.
The commissioner stated that the arrests took place at different spots in the state, including Oshodi Oke, Ile Epo, Ikoyi, Victoria Island, and Ajah.

The offenders have been charged to court for prosecution in accordance with the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Protection Law 2017.
Specifically, thirteen persons were arrested on Thursday for crossing the highway without using the pedestrian bridge in the Oshodi Oke area.
This crackdown follows the Lagos State Government’s previous call for residents to utilize pedestrian bridges, labeling the crossing of major highways by pedestrians as an offense.
The government reiterated its commitment to prosecuting anyone found violating this directive.
