53 Dead in Sokoto Boat Tragedy

Sokoto State – The death toll from a boat accident in Goronyo Local Government Area of Sokoto State has risen to 53, with children making up a large proportion of the victims.

The boat capsized at the Gorau crossing point while carrying people travelling to farms. Rescue operations and recovery efforts have continued as authorities face questions over overcrowding and waterway safety.
