A 105-year-old man tragically lost his life after being struck by a car while crossing a road in Uckfield, East Sussex. The incident occurred on Saturday, April 5, at around 1:44 PM on the B2102 Bell Farm Road, near the Brookside junction.
The man, who was using a mobility scooter, was hit by a blue Ford KA driven by an 87-year-old woman from Ringmer. Despite paramedics’ efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers. The driver of the car was unharmed.
A section of the road was temporarily closed as emergency services attended to the scene. Sussex Police have launched an investigation and are appealing for witnesses to come forward with any information regarding the incident.
