Yung Filly Admits Biting Woman During Perth Trial

​PERTH — British rapper and YouTube personality Yung Filly testified in a Western Australia court, acknowledging he bit a woman multiple times during a 2024 encounter but vehemently denying allegations of rape and assault.

​The 30-year-old entertainer, legally named Andrés Felipe Valencia Barrientos, appeared before the District Court of Western Australia to defend himself against multiple serious charges. Barrientos faces six counts of sexual penetration without consent, three counts of assault causing bodily harm, and one count of impeding another person’s normal breathing.

​The charges stem from an incident following a nightclub performance in Perth during his 2024 Australian tour. According to court testimony, Barrientos met the then-20-year-old complainant at the Bar1 nightclub, where he stated he felt an immediate mutual attraction. While the complainant alleged inappropriate physical contact occurred at the venue, Barrientos disputed this, testifying that his physical interaction at the club was limited to placing his hand on her waist.

​Testifying from the witness stand, Barrientos recounted that the woman agreed to accompany him back to his hotel. He noted that upon arrival, his security guard confiscated the woman’s phone as a standard precaution given his public profile. Describing the subsequent encounter in his hotel room, Barrientos maintained that the activity was entirely consensual and mutual.

​Prosecutors, however, presented a starkly contrasting account. The state alleges the encounter escalated into violence, detailing accusations that Barrientos slapped the woman, compressed her neck for several seconds, and ignored her verbal pleas to stop. Jurors also viewed photographic evidence documenting bruising and bite marks on the complainant’s face, neck, and chest, including a skin-breaking injury that necessitated a hospital tetanus shot.

​Addressing the physical marks, Barrientos disputed the prosecution’s characterization of assault, downplaying the biting as a “love bite” common in the UK and explaining that his mouth and teeth were involved in suction. He explicitly denied choking or slapping the woman.

​The Colombian-born social media personality, who commands millions of followers across digital platforms, entered pleas of not guilty to all charges. Having previously been granted permission to return to the United Kingdom while awaiting proceedings, Barrientos remains on bail as the trial continues.
