Popular fashion stylist and CEO of Twice As Nice, Waheed Shonibare, has passed away. He was buried this afternoon at Ikoyi Cemetery in accordance with Muslim rites. The circumstances of his death remain unclear as of this report. Shonibare was also a board member of the Lagos State Pilgrims Welfare Board. Despite studying Pharmacy at Ogun State University, he pursued a successful career in fashion.
Starting from retailing men’s shirts from his car booth a decade ago, Shonibare turned Twice As Nice into one of Nigeria’s fastest-growing men’s fashion brands. From a single shop in Yaba, Lagos, the brand now has almost 20 outlets across Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan, Port Harcourt, and Accra in Ghana. Known for his determination, he chose to build his legacy through hard work rather than relying on inheritance from his late father’s property.
