An undisclosed number of travelers have been reportedly abducted by unidentified gunmen who ambushed the road between Ekiti and Ondo States.
The incident happened on Thursday evening between Ikere Ekiti and Iju locations.
The victims were, according to several reports, travelling in two vehicles – a Toyota Corolla and a white Highlander when they were intercepted and marched into the bush.
A video of the incident showed how the hoodlums riddled the vehicles with bullets.

As of the time of filing this report, it was not clear whether the kidnappers had contacted their family members or not.

Meanwhile, personnel of the Ondo State Amotekun and the Nigerian police, who were called for intervention, had already started tracking the kidnappers.
