Video: Soldier Expresses Anguish, Vows to Avenge Fallen Comrades

A Nigerian soldier, identified as Egitanghan G, has voiced his determination to participate in any operation aimed at avenging the deaths of military personnel killed during a peacekeeping mission in Delta State last week.

Expressing his frustration over what he perceives as disrespectful comments about the fallen soldiers, Egitanghan, who claims Delta State as his own, emphasized the sacrifices soldiers make to safeguard their nation.

In a video shared on his TikTok account on Wednesday, Egitanghan spoke passionately in pidgin English, addressing his fellow Niger Delta residents:

“As I read the comments about the disrespectful remarks made regarding our soldiers who lost their lives in Delta State, I couldn’t help but shed tears because I am a Delta native.

“I have experienced the challenges faced in this country. I have spent four years in Maiduguri fighting. I know how many soldiers from Maiduguri have died protecting their homeland. I know how many from Katsina have fallen defending their state.

“But you have the audacity to kill our soldiers in Delta State, and people from the South-South are making disrespectful comments. Do they even display soldiers who die in the North online?

“We cannot forgive anyone who kills frontline soldiers. We must seek vengeance for their deaths. Even though I am a Quartermaster, I pray to be part of the operation.

“Do not forget that those who live in glass houses do not throw stones. If one hand is touched by oil, it affects the other hand. As you have sown, you must reap.

“Remember, these soldiers have wives, families, and mothers praying for them as they protect the country. We reward good with good and bad with bad.”

According to Valid View Network reports, a Nigerian Army commander, three officers, and 12 soldiers were killed in Delta State last Thursday.

Serving with the 181 Amphibious Battalion, they were on a peacekeeping mission to quell community clashes in Bomadi Local Government of Delta State when the tragic incident occurred. Some of the recovered bodies were found mutilated, with severed heads and missing vital organs.
