Value Jet Airlines is set to commence passenger flights at Gateway International Airport (GWI), Ogun State, starting Tuesday, October 7, 2025. The airline will operate two weekly flights, every Tuesday and Thursday, on the GWI-Abuja route. Flights will depart GWI at 8:30 a.m., arriving Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at 9:45 a.m., with return flights leaving Abuja at 4:00 p.m. and landing back at GWI by 5:15 p.m.
This new service is enabled following regulatory approvals from aviation authorities, marking a milestone for the state-of-the-art Gateway airport as it begins scheduled commercial operations. Tickets for these flights go on sale beginning Thursday, September 25, available online, via travel agents, and at GWI ticket desks.
The commencement of flights is expected to enhance air connectivity for residents of Ibadan, Ogun State, Lagos, Abuja, and other regions, facilitating easier travel to the nation’s capital and beyond. Business leaders, government officials, contractors, bankers, and leisure travelers have expressed enthusiasm for the convenience and world-class facilities offered at Gateway International Airport, which positions itself as a competitive alternative access point for Lagos and other destinations.
This latest development is part of a broader plan to unlock Ogun State’s economic potential through improved infrastructure and transport links, boosting trade, investment, and tourism in the region.
