Nollywood actress Bimbo Ademoye has opened up about her strained relationship with her mother, describing her as the source of her first experience of betrayal. In a recent interview with media personality Hauwa Magaji, Bimbo revealed that her mother left when she was just two years old, an event that deeply impacted her.
Bimbo stated that although her mother lives only 15 to 20 minutes away, they do not share a close bond. She explained, “We don’t have a friendship. I am fulfilling my duties as a child—paying rent and allowances—but that’s the extent of our relationship.” For the sake of her mental health and peace of mind, she is content with maintaining this distance.
The actress emphasized that she had attempted to build a connection with her mother but ultimately accepted their lack of closeness. She described her mother as a beautiful, dark-skinned woman but expressed no desire for a deeper relationship beyond fulfilling her obligations as a daughter.
Bimbo also reflected on being raised by her father, who made significant sacrifices to care for her and shaped the strong bond they share today.
