
Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have apprehended two men connected to the illegal possession of three human skulls in the Ijebu area of Ogun State. The first arrest occurred around 2 p.m. on Monday, August 11, 2025, during a routine stop-and-search by mobile police officers from the 71 PMF Awa Ijebu at Refugees Camp Junction, Oru Ijebu, on the Ijebu Ode/Ibadan Expressway.
The suspect, identified as Kadir Owolabi, a motorcycle rider, was intercepted while on the move. A search of his luggage led to the shocking discovery of three human skulls. Following this, preliminary investigations led to the arrest of a second suspect, 53-year-old Jamiu Yisa, behind the Ijebu Ode Local Government Secretariat.
Chief Superintendent of Police Omolola Odutola, the Ogun police spokesperson, confirmed the arrests and noted that the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has been directed by Commissioner of Police Lanre Ogunlowo to take over and carry out discreet investigations into the matter.
The police reiterated their unwavering commitment to decisive actions against crime, urging residents to cooperate fully. They also assured the public of trust, confidentiality, and protection of identity throughout the investigation.
This case has already attracted attention due to the nature of the items found and the circumstances under which the suspects were apprehended, highlighting ongoing police efforts to combat criminal activities in Ogun State.
