The strikes targeted Caracas and other areas, leading to Maduro’s removal along with his wife and son, who face U.S. drug trafficking charges. They highlighted repeated assurances against regime change or military action, labeling it a deception.
Calls for Accountability
Democrats urged immediate congressional briefings and accused Trump of distracting from domestic issues like rising costs and Epstein files. Schumer indicated the Senate would vote on blocking further action, framing it as an “illegal war” endangering troops without strategy. The criticism echoes broader concerns over unconstitutional overreach and potential for prolonged U.S. involvement.
